About the Role
The Supply Chain Manager will lead a team of 20 Full-Time Employees (FTEs), taking a hands-on role in optimizing processes, fostering collaboration, and driving continuous improvement. This is a leadership position within the local management team, requiring someone with a strategic mindset, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to implement meaningful changes that enhance efficiency and performance across all supply chain functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory and Procurement Management
- Oversee purchasing, logistics, warehouse, and facility management functions.
- Balance inventory levels, backorders, and cash flow to ensure optimal operations.
- Manage procurement of Makita products and spare parts efficiently.
- Technology Implementation
- Lead the adoption and implementation of future-proof solutions such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Streamline workflows before and after WMS implementation for improved efficiency.
- Team Leadership and Development
- Conduct team analysis to optimize structure and performance.
- Mentor and empower team members, fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
- Operational Excellence and Lean Management
- Drive lean principles to improve processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency.
- Optimize cost management across supply chain operations.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with Sales, Finance, Product Management, and Repair departments to ensure alignment and effective horizontal collaboration.
- Build strong relationships with Nordic and European colleagues, as well as other Makita affiliates.
- Safety and Security
- Enhance workplace safety protocols and implement effective anti-theft measures, such as zoned access for employees.
- Strategic Reporting and KPI Analysis
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify gaps and implement countermeasures.
- Prepare and present monthly reports to the local management team.
- Project Management and Change Leadership
- Lead projects to improve supply chain operations and ensure effective communication of changes to stakeholders.
- Develop and execute new operational procedures, ensuring smooth transitions.
Who We’re Looking For
- Experience and Expertise
- Minimum of 10 years in supply chain, logistics, or related fields.
- Industry experience in consumer goods, tools, or electronics is advantageous.
- Proven ability to execute business strategies and create structured operational frameworks.
